The fold of the Colorado State Flag is compromised of three
alternate stripes, the two outer stripes colored blue and the middle stripe white. The
color of the C in the Colorado state flag is red, and the center of the C is filled with
gold. It was also stipulated that the state flag should have an attached cord of gold
and silver intertwined with gold and silver tassels. The colors used in the Colorado
State Flag represent environmental features of the state. The gold represents the
abundant sunshine in the state, the blue symbolizes the clear blue skies, white
represents the snow capped mountains of the state, and red represents much of the
state's soil
